About School Menu App
School Menu App puts the school breakfast and lunch menu your district already publishes on one page per school. No account, no app, nothing to install.
Why it exists
Districts publish their menus faithfully, and families still cannot find them. The menu sits behind a login, or inside an app, or three clicks deep on a district site, or as a PDF that will not open on a phone at seven in the morning. This site takes what districts have already published and shows it in one place, in a form that works on the phone in your hand.
Where the menus come from
Every menu here was written by a district's own nutrition department. We record which platform each district publishes through and read the menu from that platform's public pages or the feed behind them, which is the same data the district's own menu page loads. How the menus are fetched and published names every platform and says how often each district is re-read.
Menus change. Districts post substitutions, snow days and corrections, and this site follows a day or so behind. The school kitchen is always the final word, and every school page links back to the district's own menu so you can check.
Independence
School Menu App is independent. It is not run by, affiliated with, or endorsed by any school district, nor by any of the menu platforms it reads from. It is built by someone who has run a district's school meal programme for eighteen years, which is the reason the site is organised the way a parent looks for a menu rather than the way a district files one.
Privacy
There is no account to make and no menu you have to log in to read. The schools you save are kept in your own browser and never sent anywhere. The privacy page says exactly what is stored.
